It’s A String Thing 282: Pi Day

It’s Pi Day!

For that reason, Adele Bruno designed last week’s ‘It’s a String Thing’ challenge to pay homage to the number 3.14…

To start us off, Adele gave us a string (guideline) shaped like Pi (π) in which to draw the 3 numerically themed patterns: O3, 1+1 & 4Fun.

I’d never drawn any of these patterns before but I’m happy that none of them proved too difficult to recreate.

I added colour to all the patterns, but especially 4Fun, in the hopes that it would resemble the spots on a giraffe’s coat because that’s what I thought of as soon as I drew it. Although, I must admit that the finished result looks somewhat like a man’s tie.

As with previous things I’ve drawn where I’ve used a gold pen, I hope the areas where I’ve used it are clearly visible. However, I’ve included a short video clip to show it off just in case. I have my friend Dana “Jonesy” Jones to thank for that clever suggestion.

Because of some technical difficulties that prevented me from loading the video, please click on the finished drawing to see it my Instagram page.
